Rashid Akhter Nadvi, in an extensive and varied career spanning six decades, was not only an accomplished Novelist but was also a Historian, Biographer, Translator, Journalist and a Researcher. Along with these skills he was also known as a respected Religious Scholar.
The first ten years of his diverse literary career, were spent writing novels, and the next thirty six years were spent conducting historical and literary research work. During this expansive career, he penned eighteen novels, seven historical novels, twenty translations, biographies and books on Islamic and Pakistan history.
In 1990, he completed his last novel, “Uljhi Rahain”, and in 1992 he passed away at his home in Murree, which was his favourite hillside city and was where most of the inspiration for his writing took place.
